Financial Times: UK’s ex-officer called UAF possible counteroffensive a high-risk operation
A possible counteroffensive by the Ukrainian army is a high-risk operation, which could result in the defeat of Kiev’s advanced units without a serious air support – as noted by a former officer in Britain’s Royal Engineers, Nick Gunnell, in his talk with The Financial Times, TASS reports
As stated by Mr. Gunnell, the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will take a giant orchestration of combined arms. “Everyone has to play a role. It is a very high risk," he said.
According to the publication, the lack of air superiority is among the existing difficulties of the Ukrainian troops. As noted by the former officer, Russian aviation will ‘squash Ukraine’s specialist engineering vehicles’ as they try to breach Russian fortification.
