According to the document, attempts to interfere in the elections to the State Duma this year pursued longer-term goals: in particular, to influence the 2024 presidential elections.

In addition, the report states that western countries aim to make Russia more convenient for external management. “This administration was planned not in the interests of security and prosperity of Russian peoples, but as a way to restrain the Russian Federation and weaken it as much as possible,” the report reads.

On December 15th, the document will be presented to senators.

Last month, congressmen Steve Cohen and Joe Wilson submitted a proposal to the House of Representatives of the US Congress not to recognise the Head of Russia, Vladimir Putin, as President of the Russian Federation if he decides to run for a new term in 2024. Commenting upon this initiative, State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that such actions indicate the United States' fear of Russia. He warned other states against trying to interfere in the election campaign.

The Central Election Commission has recently stated that, during the last election process, 25 hacker attacks from abroad were registered.
