In his talk with Belarus 1 TV channel, Mr. Bogodel emphasised, “A Belarusian is more than a nationality, and it's even more than citizenship: it’s a state of mind. In our country, all nationalities are equal. We do not indicate this information in the passport, we do not ask each other about it. It doesn't matter to us at all, while Europe views this issue as a thorn in the flesh. Look at what the Poles are building: it’s a mono-ethnic state. Look at what the Lithuanians are doing: they are trying to dispute some historical aspects. In turn, we do not have to prove anything to anyone. We have a truly multinational state, and all cultures here are part of the Belarusian one. That's how we feel about it. Many [opponents] are not satisfied with the peaceful republic that is engaged into creation and does not threaten any country that is nearby.”

The expert mentioned recent statements regarding Belarus that were made by Ukraine’s representatives. “They are looking for an opportunity to rock the last stronghold of normal human relations, normal relations between nationalities and cultures. They treat the Belarusian issue seriously, but Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania realise that too high price will have to be paid if they decide to attack individually or uniting the efforts. Belarus has really serious allies. Can you imagine what would happen if someone tried to start some kind of conflict against Belarus? Our land is ours, we will not give it to anyone. We do not want to capture or humiliate anyone, we just want to live peacefully," Mr. Bogodel stressed.
