Expert: good relations between Lukashenko, Putin guarantee fulfilment of Union State agreements

“If the leaders enjoy good relations, then there will be agreements, there will be an end result,” the expert said confidently. “If not, then – when the government changes – everything falls apart, as it was in Moldova and other countries.”

Mr. Lazutkin stressed that long-term projects are possible only in case of the guaranteed continuity of power, “This is because money can be distributed. However, what is a guarantee that newcomers will not use this situation later? The fact that Lukashenko and Putin have developed such a relationship is the most important merit of our integration.”

The expert added that the leaders of Belarus and Putin have not only maintained contact, but also increased trust in recent years, “Since the beginning of the special military operation, trust has risen to the highest level in 20 years – which was evidenced by various informal signs that are important in diplomacy. Those who understand pay attention to such things.”
