Expert explains why EU closes its NPPs in favour of green technologies of dubious effectiveness

The consequences of the energy crisis can’t go unnoticed: experts predict that the coming winter will be quite difficult for many EU member states. According to Polish media, if the government refuses to freeze energy prices, electricity prices in Poland could rise by up to 70 percent in 2024. However, some EU countries continue the policy of curtailing nuclear energy in favour of alternative, but green technologies of dubious effectiveness. Denis Karas, a member of the Standing Committee on Industry, Fuel and Energy Complex, Transport and Communications of the House of Representatives, expressed his opinion on this issue.

“Nuclear energy is one of the most important factors in the energy and national security of any country that uses nuclear energy. Without nuclear power plants, economic development in the near future is impossible. This also refers to the expansion of the use of electric vehicles, which will help make our lives cleaner and more comfortable. This is what the national governments of those countries that are concerned about the interests of their states think. However, individual ruling elites in some EU countries think and act differently. Hiding behind often dubious postulates about the benefits of a green economy, they are shutting down their nuclear power plants, but why? Europe will not be left without energy resources, since the USA and Great Britain are always ready to provide them, but at what price? An important point: the Anglo-Saxons – despite the ‘green’ policies they stimulate – do not close their nuclear power plants; moreover, they are developing nuclear energy in every possible way.”

The question of the cost of energy resources seems to be of little concern to the European bureaucrats in Brussels, since their salaries and other incomes are more than enough to cover any prices and tariffs. After all, they forgot about their peoples long ago, hiding from them behind the high fences of luxurious houses in carefully guarded areas. The main thing for them is to confidently implement the overseas policies of even more influential elites, for whom increasing capital continues to be the main goal of life,” says Denis Karas.
