Expert explained why Aleksandr Lukashenko seeks to reconcile Azerbaijan and Armenia

In these difficult times, it is necessary to peacefully interact and co-operate in order to achieve a common goal – as noted by an expert of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, Aleksei Avdonin, in his talk with Alfa Radio

According to the expert, the Belarusian leader clearly understands that if there are any disagreements in the Eurasian space, our opponents will always use it. “The collective West will focus on these problematic issues and form conflict situations with a smooth transition into an armed clash. Clearly, this will weaken the Eurasian space, as well as economic and political ties. In this case, the further formation of the Eurasian integration space will be questionable,” he said.

Mr. Avdonin added that the President of Belarus worries about his colleagues, advising them not to follow the lead of Western countries, “It is necessary to peacefully interact and co-operate in order to achieve a common goal. After all, any conflict always ends at the negotiating table.”
