A lawsuit with a request to impose financial sanctions on Bulgaria and Slovakia has been sent to the European Court. The EC clarifies that it sent an official notification of the need to change the legislation to both countries in 2021. However, in December last year, confirmation of the fulfilment of the conditions was not received.

Accordingly, Bulgaria and Slovakia remained the only EU members that did not adopt the rules on renewable energy sources. The remaining countries have agreed that, by 2030, at least 32 percent of such sources will be used.
