Economy Ministry: Belarus’ exports are steadily growing

After a drop in exports in March caused by a shock amid increased sanctions pressure, Belarus has seen a steady increase in exports of goods over the past five months, the Economy Ministry reports

According to the Economy Ministry, in August 2022, the increase made 9.2 percent ($0.3bn) against July 2021.

From January-August 2022, exports of goods amounted to $3.4bn, which is 0.7 percent higher than in August 2021 – one of the most successful periods in Belarus' foreign trade.

As reported, there has been a surplus in foreign trade in goods over four months, and, according to the Economy Ministry, ‘this has made it possible to reach the maximum positive foreign trade balance in the last ten years – $3.5bn – over the period of eight months’.

Compared to January-August 2021, Belarus’ foreign trade balance increased by $1bn.
