Deputy: no one from outside can dictate us how we should develop our political system

When building its political system, Belarus relies exclusively on its own experience, the needs and demands of our population, its traditions and customs, enabling our state to be even more powerful and strong, guaranteeing sovereignty and independence in the future – as noted by deputy Sergei Klishevich, when commenting on the meeting of the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, with the leaders of the country’s political parties

“The Republic of Belarus is a fairly young state by historical standards. We are only a little over thirty years old. And right now, at this time in which we live, the institutions of our civil society, socio-political influence on government, as well as the party system are being formed. The state became stronger, and we began to establish these institutions. It is important that this is happening right now, when we have a national leader, when we have achieved success in various areas of socio-economic development and no one from the outside can dictate us how we should develop our political system, our political parties, the parliamentary system, etc.,” the parliamentarian underlined.

He noted that today the country has the opportunity to look at the experience of other states without any pressure, “And do it as we want, not others.”

The parliamentarian recalled that it is in this spirit that the regulatory framework is being currently improved, “Quite recently, the Law On Civil Society was adopted, which clearly regulates the rules of the game for political parties in our country and the requirements for these institutions. These conditions underlie the protection of the state and the interests of people. We have removed other alien elements of supposedly traditional parliamentarism. We left those norms and rules that will allow parties to truly effectively participate in government, preventing anyone from interfering in our internal affairs and political processes, except for the Belarusian people, who will form these parties and influence their policies.”
