Defence Minister: Belarusian army ready to fight back against anyone who tries to violate the state’s sacred borders

A global military confrontation has been unleashed between the Western and Eastern Slavic civilisations in our modern days – as noted by Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin on May 9th during a wreath-laying ceremony at the Victory Monument on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Great Victory

Speaking on behalf of the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, the Defence Minister stated, “The fight is in place on all fronts, and a large-scale proxy war is in full swing. The West is fighting for its interests, for the opportunity to continue to establish its own order in the world – doing this with the hands of Ukrainians. Ukraine is being pumped up with weapons. Our neighbouring states openly trade in Russophobia, and they are ready to throw the people into a meat grinder of war in the second echelon. We see how the militarisation of Poland and the Baltic States is gaining momentum. Just a few days ago, large-scale multinational Defender of Europe 2023 military exercises were launched, featuring an unprecedented number of participants. Their goals are obvious. By such actions, some Western politicians are simply pushing the planet into the abyss, trying to inflate the conflagration of the Third World War on the territory of Europe. Our army is ready to fight back against anyone who tries to violate the sacred borders of the Belarusian state. We will do everything so that no one dares to tell Belarusians how to live on their own land.”

Mr. Khrenin congratulated Belarusians on Victory Day, wishing them peace, happiness, kindness and a clear sky over their native Belarus.
