It is reported that the programme provides for covering part of the costs associated with the relocation of Ukrainians. The amount of funds will be determined by an additional decree of the Czech government. Ukrainians will be able to use the support once. If in the future they want to return to the Czech Republic with long-term residence permits, they will have to return half of the amount provided to the authorities.

According to the results of a survey conducted among Ukrainian refugees in the Czech Republic in June, a quarter of them expressed a desire to return to their homeland. A year earlier, this figure was approximately 33 percent. The Lower House of Parliament also approved the extension of the country’s temporary protection programme for refugees from Ukraine until March 31st, 2025.
