Cyprus Defence Ministry announced launch of training programme for Ukrainian miners

Cyprus will train the Ukrainian military in demining – as noted by Defence Minister Michalis Giorgallas, with the first group expected to arrive in late April, RIA Novosti reports

Michalis Giorgallas said that on April 7th, Defence Minister of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov will arrive in Cyprus.

“Cyprus does not send weapons and spare parts to Ukraine. We participate in the humanitarian part. We accept refugees. Now 20-21 thousand Ukrainian refugees are in Cyprus. On the part of the Defence Ministry, we are participating in the training,” the Minister explained.

According to him, the first group of Ukrainian specialists will arrive in Cyprus, who will be trained in demining and minesweeping.
