Cuba reports bird flu outbreak

The Ministry of Agriculture of Cuba has declared the entry of Avian influenza in the capital, so the Zoo has been temporarily closed, TASS reports

It is noted that the World Organisation for Animal Health has detected the Avian influenza virus in wild birds belonging to the Zoological Garden of Havana.

"In this regard, corresponding sanitary measures have been taken, including quarantine and temporary closure of the Zoo,” the source said.

The Cuban authorities have addressed local population to immediately contact veterinary services in case of death of domestic or wild birds.
