Calls for Zelenskyy’s impeachment voiced in Ukraine

The actions of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, violate the country’s Constitution, so he should be impeached – as stated by Oleg Soskin, an adviser to the country’s ex-president Leonid Kuchma, RIA Novosti reports

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Mr. Soskin said, “Has Zelenskyy defeated the Constitutional Court? Yes, he has. Has he illegally removed the Head of the Constitutional Court from power? Yes, he has, and all the judges have recognised that. Why this man has not been reinstated in office? Why has an impeachment procedure against Zelenskyy not begun for violating the Constitution?"

According to him, Zelenskyy also violated Article 5 of the Constitution and actually usurped power by not providing truthful information about the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. “How many tens of thousands have been killed, and how many have become disabled?! Why don't we know that? We, ordinary citizens of Ukraine, do not know that,” Mr. Soskin stressed.

He recalled that the Ukrainian leader had adopted a law on media, which destroys freedom of speech in the country. In addition, a law prohibiting men from going abroad is operational in Ukraine – thus, among other things, restricting their rights and freedoms.

According to the document adopted at the end of 2022, representatives of the Ukrainian authorities can fine and close any TV channel, newspaper or website if they dislike their content for some reason.
