Brits urged to be ready to do without Internet and electricity
UK residents should prepare for possible emergencies that could leave them without electricity and Internet – as noted by Deputy PM Oliver Dowden, TASS reports
According to The Times, the politician stressed that modern society is heavily dependent on digital infrastructure. He said that the Cabinet of Ministers plans to prepare a detailed guidance for the UK residents in 2024 on how to get ready for various emergencies.
Mr. Dowden stressed that Brits should have a special kit in case of emergency: a battery-operated radio, torches, candles and other items that may be useful in the event of a natural or man-made disaster.
Earlier, the UK Government presented a list of 89 such threats, which included terrorist attacks, large-scale cyber-attacks, attacks on key infrastructure using drones and damage to underwater communication cables in the Atlantic Ocean.
