Antony Blinken said Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Turkiye would consider participating in planning for Gaza’s future. He said, “The leaders agreed to co-operate and co-ordinate efforts to help Gaza stabilise and recover, outline a political path for the Palestinians, and work toward long-term peace, security and stability in the region as a whole.”

Blinken also added that the region’s leaders are ready to undertake ‘the necessary commitments and make the difficult decisions to realise goals and advance their vision for the region’. However, Blinken did not specify what role countries could play in the future of Gaza. But to implement any of the options, financial assistance from rich states – the UAE and Saudi Arabia – will be useful.
