Belstat: foreign investments into Belarus’ economy at $6bn in first three quarters of 2023

Foreign investors injected $6bn in the real sector of the Belarusian economy in January–September 2023 – according to the data published on the website of the National Statistical Committee (Belstat)

The main investors of the country’s organisations were business entities of the Russian Federation (accounting for 63.1 percent of all incoming investments) and Cyprus (16.7 percent). FDI totalled $4.5bn (75.3 percent of all incoming foreign investment).

Between January and September 2023, Belarusian organisations directed $4.4bn of investments abroad. Significant volumes of investments were directed to Russian business entities (accounting for 92.4 percent of all directed investments). FDI stood at 80.9 percent of all directed investments abroad.
