Belarusian Women's Union member: President of Belarus supports women like no other

The Chairperson of the entrepreneurship wing of the Belarusian Women's Union, Yelena Prokhorova, explained why Aleksandr Lukashenko truly is, as he calls himself ‘the most pro-woman President’, in her talk with ONT TV channel

Yelena Prokhorova first highlighted the great attention the Head of State pays to the social sphere. 

“Regardless of what is happening in our country, no matter how difficult it is for the economy, our President has never infringed on women. Look at what is happening in Russia and Kazakhstan. The maternity leave period has been reduced to 1.5 years there, while our women have three years. There are 11 state programmes in place to support motherhood and childhood. Women are given the opportunity to have free in vitro fertilisation (IVF). No other country in the world does this. So how can we perceive the Head of State differently when we understand that he supports women like no other?” 

When asked by the host, Marat Markov, why women took to the streets and protested in 2020, Yelena Prokhorova stated that they were driven by infantilism and an unwillingness to analyse. This made them suggestible.
