Belarusian diplomats raised issue of Belovezhskaya Pushcha’s preservation at UNESCO session

Belarus will welcome UNESCO’s initiatives aimed at maintaining peace and security and promoting sustainable development in mandated areas – as stated by Kirill Glushevsky, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to UNESCO, during his speech at the plenary meeting of the 215th session of the UNESCO Executive Board

According to the Foreign Ministry, the representative of Belarus in his speech underlined the inadmissibility of the politicisation of UNESCO’s activities and called on the leadership of the organisation to counteract intolerance, discrimination, incitement to hatred and enmity, while also stressing that UNESCO should solve problems exclusively within its mandate.

Belarus also once again raised the issue of the preservation of the UNESCO World Heritage site – Belovezhskaya Pushcha – which is negatively affected by the fence built by Poland on the border with our country.
