During the session, it is planned to consider twenty-six issues, including the prevention of non-communicable diseases, infection control, the elimination of meningitis, rehabilitation, standardisation of the range of medical devices and others.

“In today’s turbulent world, the topic of public health is especially relevant. Emerging challenges in healthcare only exacerbate negative trends in global politics and complicate the processes of sustainable development. In this regard it is important to combine efforts both at the global and regional levels,” Aleksandr Tarasenko, Belarus’ Deputy Healthcare Minister - Chief Sanitary Inspector, underlined during his speech at the session.

In May 2021, Belarus was elected to the WHO Executive Board for the period 2021-2024.
