Belarusian delegation headed to World Youth Festival 2024 in Sochi

The largest youth event of the year, the World Youth Festival, will be held from March 1st to 7th in Sochi. About 20,000 activists in business, media, international co-operation, culture, science, sports, education, volunteering and charity from different countries, including Belarus, will attend. The forum will be held for the first time in the last seven years, so it deserves close attention. Its idea is to create a platform for the exchange of experience, where young people from all over the world will show their best. Everyone has different interests, so the programme is expected to be diverse: workshops, contests, meetings with movie stars, car races, excursions, exhibitions, a gastronomic show and much more.

Deputy Minister of Education Aleksandr Kadlubai stated at the farewell ceremony that the Belarusian delegation includes participants from all regions.

“At the World Youth Festival, we are represented by one of the largest delegations – almost 650 most active and energetic young people. They will visit the sites of the Sirius Federal Territory and present the experience of the Belarusian youth. The main principle of forming the delegation was to choose those young people who are leaders in their area, have achieved heights in the professional field, and have established themselves as individuals who can lead others. The festival serves as an example of youth diplomacy, because young people from more than 150 countries will meet to exchange experiences and communicate. In addition, it is important for them to gather the experience of other states, reach specific agreements and establish business co-operation not only at the level of youth and public associations, but also at the state level,” the Deputy Minister noted.
