Belarus’ State Border Committee: another corpse of a refugee found on the border with Poland
Another death of a refugee was recorded on December 28th: the Golynka border guards found the body of a citizen of Togo, the State Border Committee reports in its Telegram channel
The traces on the body indicate that the foreigner was dragged from the territory of Poland. The border on this section passes through the Svisloch River and has no engineering barriers.
Over the past month, this has become the third case on the Polish-Belarusian border when Polish security forces throw dead people on the Belarusian border. “An increasing number of cases of such deportations, the silence of the EU and Poland's disregard for international law make it possible to predict a further growth of victims thrown out by Polish security forces to die in the cold,” the State Border Committee said in a statement.
Since the beginning of 2022, this has become the eighth death on the border with Poland. Two days earlier, a woman's corpse was found near a gate in the Polish fence. The bodies of refugees were discovered by Belarusian border guards also on April 3rd, October 2nd, November 17th, 21st and 23rd, December 20th.
