Belarus, Sri Lanka discuss liaisons in politics and economy

Belarus’ Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Ambrazevich has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sri Lanka to Russia and Belarus concurrently Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage – as reported in the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service

The two sides shared views on the whole range of issues of Belarusian-Sri Lankan relations, discussing promising areas for the development of interaction between the two countries in the political, trade-economic and humanitarian spheres.

Yuri Ambrazevich congratulated the head of the Sri Lankan diplomatic mission on the opening of the Office of the Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Belarus. The Deputy Foreign Minister expressed hope that its work will contribute to the further development of bilateral ties in trade, education, science, technology, tourism and culture, as well as the intensification of business exchanges.

In autumn 2022, the governments of Belarus and Sri Lanka signed an agreement on co-operation in tourism.
