Belarus, Saudi Arabia eager to give dynamics to range of bilateral relations

During an official visit of the Belarusian delegation to Saudi Arabia, Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik held talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, BelTA reports with reference to Belarus’ Foreign Ministry

The parties gave a positive assessment to the renewed dynamics of the development of political, economic, and humanitarian ties between Belarus and Saudi Arabia, and the intensification of bilateral business contacts. They also stated a mutual desire to intensify relations across the entire spectrum.

"The possible ways of this process were considered in detail, including in terms of deepening trade and economic co-operation and developing the contractual and legal framework. Issues of food security, interaction in the field of healthcare and tourism, and simplification of the visa regime were discussed as well,” the Foreign Ministry reported.

The diplomats discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral events, including the prospects for holding a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Joint Co-operation Committee, and also exchanged views on the regional and international agenda.

"The ministers noted the coincidence of positions and views on the ongoing global processes in international relations, agreed to intensify co-operation towards building a more just world order," the Foreign Ministry added.

Sergei Aleinik congratulated his Saudi counterpart on the Kingdom's victory in the competition to host the World Expo 2030 and expressed confidence that this large-scale event will fully demonstrate the country's achievements in implementing the Vision 2030 development programme and will also contribute to the further development of Belarusian-Saudi relations.
