Belarus, Russia’s Sverdlovsk Region expanded trade turnover 1.5-fold in 2022

Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik at a meeting with the delegation of the Sverdlovsk Region, headed by First Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Sergei Shmykov, noted that warm friendly relations have developed between our country and this Russian region

“It’s very important that our friendship yields good results: trade turnover, exports, imports from your region to Belarus are growing, and it is of a systemic character,” said Piotr Parkhomchik.

He recalled that in 2021, compared to 2020, trade rose by 128 percent while last year saw a record: a 1.5-fold increase.

“The first two months of this year show the same positive dynamics. Although I underline that not all figures fall into these calculations, because part of the goods comes through dealerships located in other regions of Russia. Nevertheless, in any case, the result is impressive, showing that we are pursuing an absolutely balanced, correct policy,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

Piotr Parkhomchik believes that the two regions complement each other in industry.
