Belarus ready for 5G

As informed by Belarus’ Communications and Informatisation Minister, Konstantin Shulgan, the process of 5G technology implementing in the country is at high readiness, BelTA reports

“The process of 5G technology implementing is currently at high readiness. We have carried out preparatory work over pilot zones, when each operator studied their 5G areas. We have seen how it erases the boundaries between the city and the village in terms of service rendering,” Mr. Shulgan said.

The pilot zone was supervised by Beltelecom, MTS and Huawei, in the Kopyl District. Using this technology, people in rural areas can be provided with the same services that are available in Minsk. Unmanned transport was studied based on this principle as well.

“This technology already enables us to start practical work along this avenue since 5G produces ten times greater effect than 4G,” Mr. Shulgan said, adding, “Changes in various directions are planned. The use of this technology will help reduce costs, increase competitiveness of products, ensure more socially comfortable and attractive living conditions. All this is very important for the younger generation.”
