Belarus’ National Bank Chairman: AI to increase efficiency, quality and security of banking services

The introduction of artificial intelligence into the banking sector is one of the key areas of innovative development – as stated by the Chairman of the Board of Belarus’ National Bank, Roman Golovchenko, at a meeting held at the National Bank, sb.by reports

Possible directions of using AI technologies, the expected practical effect, security issues in the development and implementation of AI solutions, as well as Belarusbank's experience in this area were discussed at the meeting.

According to Mr. Golovchenko, the introduction of artificial intelligence in the banking sector is one of the key areas of innovative development, and this task is stipulated in the medium-term programme of activities of the National Bank and the country’s financial sector for 2026-2030. Its solution will increase the efficiency, quality and security of banking services, as well as give an additional impetus to the growth of the banking sector's competitiveness.

“A series of meetings will be held, and we will look at the progress made by banks in implementing AI and get information dealing with their medium-term plans, primarily with regard to operational processes and the ones related to building individual offers to customers,” Golovchenko added.
