In his talk with the ONT TV channel, the diplomat said that a Chinese TikTok live broadcast managed to sell $135,000 of products in a short time. That was a trial experience, and only three groups of Belarusian goods were sold: chocolate, chips and snacks.

"The stream was organised under an initiative of the Belarusian Embassy in China. Our staff agreed with the idea to take part and show what Belarusian products are, also trying to understand how much they are in demand among Chinese consumers, how e-commerce works, and what interest it might produce for Belarus. More than a million people visited our site," Mr. Senko informed.

"Over the past seven years, since Belarus has been very actively involved in China's Belt and Road initiative, the annual volume of transit traffic through Belarus and the mutual trade between China and our country are growing. 2022 is no exception: over the five months of the year, a 150 percent growth was registered on a fairly high base of 2021,” the diplomat noted, adding that Belarusian enterprises are able to work with China.

Mr. Senko stressed that China is second country after Russia in terms of trade turnover for Belarus. “At the moment, potash fertilisers comprise 35 percent, and 65 percent are represented by Belarusian food and other products,” he said.
