The city of Sochi (Russia) launched a themed electric bus for Victory Day, with Belarus-made electric bus acting as a ‘parade’ passenger vehicle, the official Telegram channel of BKM Holding reports

“The ceremonial launch of the electric bus took place at the Railway Station stop. During the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, it will run on the 2M route until May 11th,” the company informed.

The electric bus is decorated with Victory symbols: red stars, St. George’s ribbons, historical photos from the war years and the history of military Sochi are presented to passengers.

In addition, performances by the city’s creative teams and the St. George’s Ribbon campaign will be held on Sochi city routes these days. The Immortal Regiment campaign will also take place on buses, with portraits of the heroes being shown on the screens installed inside.

As previously reported, nine new electric buses and three charging stations were delivered to Sochi in 2024. Since October 1st, they have been running in the central part of the city. Previously, since 2021, the city’s passengers were served by only one electric bus manufactured by BKM Holding.

Founded in 1973 as the Minsk Tram and Trolleybus Repair Plant, BKM Holding released its first Belarusian-made trolleybus in 1994 and the first tram in 1999. In 2009, the company finished developing its first low-platform tram; production of trolleybuses with increased drive range was launched in 2015. A year later, BKM Holding started making electric buses. Today, BKM Holding is a leading manufacturer of electric public transport: electric buses, trolleybuses, and trams, along with the charging infrastructure.
