116,000 families with three or more children under the age of 18 are registered in Belarus now – as informed by the Deputy Labour and Social Protection Minister, Valery Kovalkov, in his talk to Belarus 1 TV channel
“The Brest Region traditionally leads. Moreover, the largest Belarusian family which has 13 underage children lives here,” Mr. Kovalkov said.
As he informed, the number of such families is growing in recent years. “Based on the 2009 census, there were 62,500 large families in Belarus. Accordingly, an almost 2-fold increase is now registered,” the Deputy Labour and Social Protection Minister explained.
