Belarus, Armenia intend to expand co-operation in sports

The NOC President went to Yerevan at the invitation of his colleague, Head of Armenia’s National Olympic Committee Gagik Tsarukyan. The parties held talks on expanding co-operation and noted that they are ready to strengthen contacts between the Olympic committees and exchange experience between sports teams. In particular, Belarus and Armenia are ready to continue the practice of joint training camps on the territory of both countries.

In addition, the Belarusian delegation got acquainted with the work of the Olympavan sports complex, living conditions, nutrition and training of athletes. Gagik Tsarukyan awarded Viktor Lukashenko the Order of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia for his contribution to the development and support of Olympic values and as a sign of gratitude.

It is reported that the NOC President also held a meeting in Yerevan with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Armenia, Aleksandr Konyuk, during which issues of co-operation in the sports field were discussed.
