At a meeting with media representatives, the Lithuanian army official noted, “All the information that is available to us, that we receive through official channels and from intelligence services clearly indicates that there is no threat of war for Lithuania in the near future.”

Lithuanian leader Gitanas Nauseda has, in turn, appealed to public newsmakers not to inflate military hysteria. According to the Lithuanian President, security threats in the country have not disappeared but it is necessary to respond to processes and events adequately, refraining from apocalyptic statements.

Against the background of such sentiments, the command of the Lithuanian Armed Forces had to assure the concerned residents of the country that no war would start in Lithuania in the near future. On March 1st, a statement was made by the military that Lithuanians daily send email messages asking when the war would begin.
