Areas of co-operation on peaceful nuclear energy development within CIS discussed in Moscow
A meeting of the CIS expert group to co-ordinate the draft action plan for the implementation of the second phase (2026-2030) of the CIS framework programme of co-operation in the field of the peaceful use of atomic energy for the period up to 2030 took place at the CIS Executive Committee Office in Moscow, sb.by reports with reference to the CIS Executive Committee
The framework programme is a key document defining the main directions of co-operation in the sphere of peaceful nuclear energy development within the CIS. The event was attended by representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as the CIS Commission on the Peaceful Use of Atomic Energy and the CIS Executive Committee.
The draft action plan for the implementation of the second phase (2026-2030) of the framework programme was formed taking into account the priorities of the relevant agencies of the CIS member states and the experience gained during the implementation of the first phase (2021-2025). The participants of the meeting discussed in detail the submitted proposals on the draft action plan and agreed on the document. The approved draft is expected to be submitted to the CIS Council of Heads of Government for consideration in H2 2025 in accordance with the established procedure.
