Andreichenko: Belarus-Kyrgyzstan turnover growth up 1.5 times, but more potential is available

The Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Vladimir Andreichenko, has met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Belarus, Ermek Ibraimov

“We are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan this year, and I would like to say that the Belarusian-Kyrgyz relations are based on a solid foundation of friendship, mutual understanding and support. We have always felt the support of Kyrgyz parliamentarians in international organisations. I believe we enjoy quite productive co-operation within the EAEU, the CIS, and the CSTO, also having a good contractual and legal framework,” Mr. Andreichenko said.

As noted by the Chairman of the House of Representatives, there has been a serious increase in mutual trade turnover in recent years: in 2021, it amounted to about $100m and, in 2022, it increased almost 1.5-fold. “These are serious figures and, definitely, a good achievement. Nevertheless, our potential is completely different, so these indicators need to be higher. To achieve this, we should step up our work in a number of areas – primarily, in the trade and economic sector, which is the basis of stability in Belarus and Kyrgyzstan. In addition, I see the need for more active interaction and co-operation between our countries in the field of education and culture, and our regions should also liaise,” Mr. Andreichenko stated.
