Ambrazevich: Western businesses still interested in Belarus

Brussels will not have an endless opportunity to compensate Western countries for their antics in relation to Belarus and Russia – as noted by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus, Yuri Ambrazevich, in his talk with the ONT TV channel

Mr. Ambrazevich commented on how Belarusian diplomatic missions work in the West, noting that part of them has been significantly cut. “The main objectives of the work of Belarusian foreign institutions in Western countries are consular ones: assistance to Belarusian citizens in exercising their rights, whether it is a power of attorney or obtaining a passport, and assistance in any difficult life situations,” he explained.

The Deputy Foreign Minister added that Belarusian diplomatic agencies are trying to maintain economic co-operation in those Western countries which provide such a possibility. “Believe me, the interest of Western businesses in our country has not died, and the loss of a multibillion-Dollar turnover with Belarus has not gone unnoticed for the West. Taking into account all the economic factors that Europe is likely to face in the near future, especially given the current tensions with Russia, Western businesses understand what they have lost, and that Brussels will not have an endless opportunity to compensate national governments for their antics,” Mr. Ambrazevich said.
