Aleinik met with Special Envoy of Pope Francis, Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti
Belarus’ Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik has met with the Papal Legate, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches of the Holy See, Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti – as reported by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service
According to the press service, the Papal Legate arrived in our country as a Special Envoy of Pope Francis to participate in the celebrations dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the coronation of the Budslav Icon of the Mother of God.
“The main topics of the detailed negotiations were the current situation in the Eurasian region and in the world as a whole, co-operation between Belarus and the Vatican in multilateral formats, as well as bilateral relations and contacts at various levels with the Holy See. The mutual focus on the further development of the Belarusian-Vatican interaction, as well as the strengthening of interfaith dialogue, peace and harmony was confirmed,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said.
