As NTV TV channel reports, citing a representative of the air carrier, Germany’s largest airline plans to fulfil 10-20 percent of the original flight plan.

It is noted that the United Services Trade Union (Verdi) called for a strike; this is the fifth wave of strikes by airline ground staff.

Ongoing collective bargaining for 25,000 ground workers at Lufthansa, Lufthansa Technik and Lufthansa Cargo has prompted calls for a strike. According to the union, an ‘inadequate proposal’ was put forward in previous negotiations. Verdi is demanding a 12.5 percent increase in Lufthansa ground staff salaries, amounting to at least €500 per month for 12 months. The next round of negotiations is scheduled for March 13th-14th.
