8 Belarusian universities registered in the World University Rankings 2024

Eight higher educational institutions in Belarus were included in the World University Rankings 2024, compiled by Times Higher Education magazine. It contains the best universities. Among Belarusian universities, BSU is ranked highest – as reported by the press service of the Grodno State University.

In the 20th issue of the Times Higher Education magazine, eight Belarusian universities were included in the largest and most comprehensive ranking of the world’s best universities. Another 769 universities are listed with ‘reporter’ status. In total, there are 1,904 universities from 108 countries on the list.

“The Times Higher Education World ranking includes only 8 universities in our country, including the Grodno State University named after Yanka Kupala in the status of ‘reporter’, as well as the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, the Belarusian State Medical University, the University of Civil Protection of the Emergencies Ministry, the Gomel State University named after Francysk Skaryna, and the Gomel State Medical University, the message reads.

The Belarusian State University climbed the highest, falling into the group ‘1,201–1,500’.

This rating was compiled using the new WUR 3.0 methodology, which consists of 18 performance indicators. They evaluate institutions across five areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry and international perspective. Meanwhile, the teaching and research reputation of universities is studied by ranking through an international survey of experts.
