The BFMTV channel explained, “Trade union organisations are preparing a large-scale demonstration against pension reform, timed to coincide with Labour Day on May 1st. They hope to make the 13th protest a symbolic one. More than 300 demonstrations are expected to be held in the country on this day.”

From the document of the intelligence services it follows that from 80 to 100 thousand participants may attend the action in Paris, including from 1.5 to 3 thousand supporters of the ‘yellow vests’ movement, as well as 1-2 thousand radical elements.

According to local authorities, the traditional May Day manifestation, when protesters express dissatisfaction with working conditions, could turn into a global protest against government policies.

“The association of trade unions calls on all workers, young people and pensioners to make May 1st a day of exceptional and popular mobilization against the pension reform and for social justice,” the organisations said in a communiqué.
