US hit record high for mass murders
At least twenty-eight massacres occurred in the United States in January-June of this year, which was a record since 2006 – according to the data was provided by the Associated Press news agency, TASS reports
According to the agency, the previous anti-record was observed in the second half of last year. Then there were twenty-eight massacres in the country.
This year, 27 out of 28 murders were committed with the use of firearms, only one of the tragedies was due to arson. At least 140 people died in the incidents.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden called violence with firearms in the country an epidemic. According to the American non-profit group Gun Violence Archive, shooting incidents in the United States last year claimed the lives of at least 43,600 people.
