UN General Assembly’s 80th session kicked off in New York

The previous session concluded with the swearing-in ceremony of the new President of the UN General Assembly. This position was taken by former German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock.
The main event of the 80th session is expected to be the general political debates during the high-level week, which will take place from September 23rd to 27th, and on September 29th. A total of 195 delegations are expected to speak during the debates.
