According to Mr. Snopkov, the Government’s work in modern conditions was discussed. “Three elements of its work at all levels are needed in any economic situation: an analysis of the happening events, their awareness and solution. The faster and better a decision is made – the better. With this in view, we have today discussed the operational and situational headquarters’ daily work, also focusing on activities of a working group dealing with counteraction to sanctions, which meets periodically to solve certain tasks. We have discussed over a hundred proposals received from state agencies, enterprises, regional executive committees, and the business community,” he said.

Mr. Snopkov commented on the meeting results, “The President has made a decision: if necessary, these changes should be implemented in the economic environment. If any approval is needed from the Head of State, he will give it. We will try to ensure that everything is implemented in the near future.” As explained by the First Deputy Prime Minister, liberalisation at the main production stages – procurement, logistics, settlements – is planned, “This applies to rent, payments, and certain types of taxes to support businesses. We will also touch upon certification and labelling of goods.”

Mr. Snopkov stressed both private businesses and state-owned enterprises will be in focus of attention. “All are working in a challenging situation today. I cannot say that it is complicated – but it is non-standard, it is unusual. It seems to me that enterprises should have already felt the message that the Government, the country, the state authorities are partners. We have again talked about the need today to unite and jointly confront the problems that exist. These are mostly opportunities that enable state agencies and enterprises to work differently. We have significantly reduced a gap between the Government, the Prime Minister and enterprises. The work is progressing virtually online and with direct contacts,” he added.
