Sivak on construction of Belarusian port in Russia: we’re creating favourable conditions for business

Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Sivak, after a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic, commented on the construction of a Belarusian port in Russia in an interview with journalists

“This is a commercial project which involves commercial organisations,” he said. “And we create favourable conditions for business.”

He noted that the transport infrastructure in the region, the tariffs of the Belarusian Railways and Russian Railways for cargo transportation and a range of other factors are important for the construction and successful operation of the port.

In September, an intergovernmental agreement was signed on the transit of Belarusian goods through the territory of the Russian Federation, “As far as Belarusian cargoes are concerned, the conditions will be stable and more favourable. This agreement creates conditions for businesses to invest more actively in the construction of the port,” the Deputy PM concluded.
