Sergeyenko: architecture of international security on European continent almost completely destroyed

The architecture of international security, which made it possible to maintain a delicate balance on the European continent, is almost completely destroyed – as stated by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Igor Sergeyenko, on the sidelines of the Ensuring National, Regional and International Security: Topical Problems and Solutions international scientific and practical conference

Mr. Sergeyenko drew attention to the fact that the nature of threats on Belarus’ western borders has radically changed: NATO countries continue to concentrate troops and conduct large-scale manoeuvres.

“The information warfare is being waged on an unprecedented scale, and it takes the most sophisticated forms. The levers of economic influence are constantly increasing. The deep crisis of the international security system contributes to the activation of terrorist and extremist organisations and the expansion of their influence in new territories around the globe. The world is rapidly changing, and new challenges and threats are emerging. We are forced not only to react, but also to act proactively," the Chairman of the House of Representatives said.

Mr. Sergeyenko emphasised, “At the ceremony on March 25th, 2025, when Belarusian servicemen swore an oath of allegiance to the Belarusian people and the President, the Head of State noted that the national interests, the security of the country and its people have always been and will remain Belarus’ main priorities. This will forever be so.”
