A meeting took place at the Council of the Republic between Sergei Aleinik, the Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and National Security, and Güçlü Cem Işık, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkiye to Belarus, sb.by reports with reference to the Council of the Republic’s press service
During the discussion, the parties addressed current issues of bilateral co-operation, including political dialogue, the development of trade, economic and investment ties, as well as business contacts between Belarus and Turkiye.
“Mr. Aleinik stressed the importance of sustaining the strong momentum of the Turkish-Belarusian Business Co-operation Council, which provides tangible benefits through signed commercial agreements and the identification of opportunities for mutually advantageous co-operation. The senator expressed hope that the next meeting of this effective platform would take place soon. The parliamentarian also underscored the key role of enhancing Belarusian-Turkish interregional co-operation, supported increased exchanges of best practices in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and confirmed willingness to liaise on this direction with members of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye and other relevant Turkish stakeholders,” the press service reported.
Additionally, Mr. Aleinik and Mr. Işık shared perspectives on regional conflicts and the broader geopolitical situation in the context of upholding international peace and security. They agreed to continue co-operation on these and other related issues.
