Saudi club wants to sign Messi with annual salary of 280m Euros
Saudi club Al Hilal wants to sign a contract with Argentine striker Lionel Messi. A star football player can be offered a salary of 280m Euros a year, Mundo Deportivo reports.
It is noted that Al Hilal may make an offer to the Argentine striker, and the club has chances, since Messi's contract with the French Paris Saint-Germain is valid only until the end of this season. If the footballer agrees to join the Saudi club, then most of the deal will be financed by the state.
It is no secret that many people in Saudi Arabia hope the contract will be signed, since Messi – along with Cristiano Ronaldo who moved to Al Nassr – will then significantly enhance interest in the league. This, in turn, will increase the state’s chances to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
A source of Mundo Deportivo emphasised that Al Hilal and Al Nassr are the main derby of Saudi Arabia. Therefore, the Argentine's transfer would be really enchanting.
Lionel Messi is Saudi Arabia’s tourist ambassador, and he already visited the country in May 2022.
