On the way to the quarter-finals, the representatives of Japan and Spain left two strong duets out of work, including the tandem, which was seeded third at the tournament. However, they failed to impose really serious resistance on the Belarusians.

Both parties were similar, like two drops of water. In each of the sets, Marozava and Sabalenka scored three times at the reception and at the same time did not hold one of their serves, which predetermined their confident victory.

Earlier, the Belarusians knocked out the Hungarian-Georgian duo Anna Bondár / Oksana Kalashnikova (4:6, 6:4, 10:8), as well as Hao-Ching Chan from Chinese Taipei and Chinese Yang Zhaoxuan (4:6, 6:1, 10:5) from the competition. Aryna Sabalenka and Lidziya Marozava will compete for the finals with the Czech-Australian tandem Katerina Siniakova / Storm Sanders.

For Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Tereza Mihalikova the 1/16 final barrier turned out to be insurmountable. At the start of the tournament, the Belarusian-Slovak duet lost to the Czech duo Miriam Kolodziejova / Marketa Vondrousova – 5:7, 4:6.

In the singles tournament in Adelaide, Aliaksandra Sasnovich (WTA: 30) was also eliminated in the 1/16 finals while Aryna Sabalenka (WTA: 5) and Victoria Azarenka (WTA: 26) have already reached the 1/4 finals.

Adelaide International 1 is a stage in the preparation of tennis players for the Australian Open.
