Russian Orthodox Church activities highly appreciated

At the invitation of His Eminence, Metropolitan Vikenty of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, Head of the Central Asian Metropolitan District, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Uzbekistan, Leonid Marinich, has taken part in a solemn event dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Central Asian Metropolitan District of the Russian Orthodox Church – as informed by the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Tashkent 

Mr. Marinich read out a welcome address on occasion of the jubilee on behalf of Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus.

As reported by the Belarusian Embassy in Uzbekistan, in his speech, the Ambassador stressed the importance of this anniversary not only for the clergy and all Orthodox Christians, but also for Central Asia as a whole. Mr. Marinich also praised active missionary, educational and public activities of the Russian Orthodox Church in the region.
