Pakistan plans SCO conference on co-operation in transport sector
Pakistan is planning to hold a SCO conference on co-operation in the transport sector – as informed by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State held today online
In particular, Mr. Sharif focused on the construction of common transport corridors for the development of regional trade. “Pakistan plans to hold a SCO conference on co-operation in the transport sector for this purpose," he said, adding that his country fully supports any fight against terrorism and extremism, which have always been an obstacle to the development of peace and prosperity.
“Terrorism must be condemned and eradicated in all its guises. Peace and stability in Afghanistan in this regard are becoming more important than ever. To avoid further negative consequences, we need to help Afghanistan overcome the humanitarian crisis so that terrorism does not use the Afghan land for its own purposes,” Mr. Sharif stressed.
