Open Door Day held at Belarus’ Military Academy

The Internal Troops Department of Belarus’ Military Academy is a unique educational institution. From the first days of their training, future officers plunge into combat services, while also being engaged into amateur activities and sports.

On the Open Door Day, a pair of lynxes – which are living symbols of the Interior Ministry troops’ special forces brigade – attracted much attention of those present. Among them were students of cadet classes and colleges, the Interior Ministry’s Lyceum, regular soldiers who dream of becoming officers, and young civilians.

The Deputy Commander of the Internal Troops, Khazalbek Atabekov, and the Head of the Department, Vladimir Zhiznevsky, were happy to answer questions of potential applicants, also showing them classrooms, barracks, machinery and weapons.

Guests could also enjoy a demonstration performance of the 2nd year cadets and the honour guard company. The meeting ended with a treat of soldiers' porridge and tea.
